MARCH

1 - 3 March - MCalp Ride, Bright & surrounds - The motorcyclists event with the lot with some of the best riding Victoria has to offer.

7 - 11 March - The Myrtleford Festival, Myrtleford - A traditional March Labour Day weekend fesitval where Myrtleford celebrates its vibrant community.

10 March - Mount Bogong Conquestathon - Mt Bogong - A safe but strenuous walk to the top of victoria's highest mountain, Mt Bogong.

10 March - Audax Hotham Challenge, Mt Hotham - This road cycling event based out of the picturesque village of Dinner Plain offers a variety of options for all levels of cyclists.

13 - 17 March - All Mountain & Gravity Cup - Australian Mountain Bike Series, Round 3, Bright - Part of the national series for the serious competitor.

16 March - The Alpine Challenge, Bogong Village - A 160 km run over 48 hours for the very keen Ultra Marathon runners.

18 - 22 March - Terra Australis Great Southern Land Mountain Bike Epic, Pioneer Park - The ultimate mountain bike endurance challenge over 5 days that will be an unforgettable adventure.

29 March - 1 April - High Country Easter Festival, Dinner Plain - Including the Omeo Rodeo, the legendary 'Real Country man' event (Easter Saturday) and the Geebung Polo Match (Easter Sunday).

APRIL

6 & 7 April - All Breeds Championship Dog Show, McNamara Reserve, Myrtleford - The show exhibits and promotes pure breed dogs and is the biggest fundraiser for the Ovens Valley Canine Club

19 - 21 April - Mount Beauty Music Festival, varous venues in Mt Beauty - A community festival of music, poetry and dance held over three days.

26 - 28 April - Great Alpine Pick, various venues in Harrietville - An annual bluegrass and old-time music convention.

27 April - Wandiligong Nut Festival, Alpine Park, Wandiligong - Celbrating the harvest of chestnuts, hazelnuts, walnuts & apples through a produce market, cooking demonstrations, local musicians, art & children's activites.

27 April - 5 May - Bright Autumn Festival - Bright & surrounds. Experience the splendour of the festivities including live music, street performers, ope gardens and tours of local attractions.

REGULAR EVENTS

The Alpine Region hosts some great markets and regular events for locals and visitors alike:

Mount Beauty Community Markets
Date: First Saturday of each month
Venue: Hollands Street, Mount Beauty

A wonderful community involvement featuring goods such as local food, produce, arts, crafts, plants, jewellery, sewing goods, buskers and even locally made skincare and cosmetics, all on offer for sale on the day.

Come and join in with the locals and have a relaxing wander around all the stalls. Lots of local eateries join in with fine fare as well. A very relaxed, safe and fun time to be had for tourists, families and locals alike.

Myrtleford Flea Market
Date: Second Saturday of each month
Venue: Elgin Street, Myrtleford

Held on the second Saturday of each month at the Old School Museum, 9am to 12pm

Bright Markets - Make It, Bake It, Grow It
Date: Third Saturday of each month
Venue: Howitt Park, Bright

A visit to the Bright Markets is shopping heaven if you’re looking for something original, something handmade, something special… something organic, something recycled, something ethical... you’ll find original artworks, woodwork, homewares and skincare, as well as gorgeous fashion and jewellery by local designers, all guided by the philosophy of “make it, bake it, grow it”.

Every Friday go behind the scenes and find out how the Bright Brewery brew local ingredients right in the heart of beautiful Bright. Finish with a Tasting Tray of 6 Mountain Crafted beers. $18 for Tour and Tasting, $10 for Tour only.
